Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: March 4, 2025
Last Updated: February 24, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern enrollment in and participation in any program, service, workshop, event, or offering (“Program”) operated by Empowered Futures LLC (“Organization”), including but not limited to the Children in Leadership program and future youth, teen, adult, and organizational offerings.
Some Programs may be hosted in collaboration with third-party organizations (each a “Host”), such as Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc., which may provide facility access or site-related insurance coverage. Empowered Futures LLC retains sole responsibility for program content, facilitation, and support practices.
These Terms remain in effect unless updated or replaced. The Organization reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time. Participants or parents/guardians will be notified of material changes when applicable. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
1. Scope of Services
Empowered Futures LLC provides trauma-informed, leadership-centered, and social-emotional learning (SEL)-based programs for children, teens, and adults. Services may include, but are not limited to:
Structured educational activities and leadership skill development
Individualized support and growth plan development
Restorative practices and conflict resolution guidance
Parent/caregiver or adult collaboration and coaching
Group facilitation and skill-building experiences
Observational updates, progress reports, or communication logs
Optional additional services requested by participants or caregivers
Programs may involve emotional, social, physical, and interpersonal activities. While Empowered Futures LLC is committed to providing high-quality, supportive programming, no specific outcomes or results are guaranteed, as growth varies based on individual participation, needs, and external factors.
2. Registration and Enrollment
Registration Process
All registration must be completed through the Organization’s designated online portal unless otherwise specified. Required forms, including consent forms and media releases, must be completed prior to participation. Late registration requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Enrollment Terms
Programs may have defined enrollment periods, attendance expectations, or minimum participation commitments to support consistency, community safety, and program integrity. These terms will be communicated during registration.
Payments and Deposits
Deposits, when required, secure enrollment and are non-refundable. Tuition must be paid according to the schedule communicated at registration or through an approved payment plan. Failure to maintain payment may result in suspension or termination of participation.
Cancellation and Refunds
Refunds, if applicable, require a minimum of two weeks’ written notice and are issued at the Organization’s discretion. Missed days or sessions are not eligible for reimbursement unless explicitly approved in writing by Empowered Futures LLC.
3. Engagement, Communication, and Responsibilities
Required Meetings
Some Programs may require orientation, intake, or planning meetings. Participation in these meetings is essential to shared understanding, safety, and support.
Communication
Each Program will designate a primary point of contact (Program Supervisor). Updates will be shared using the contact method selected during registration. In emergencies, immediate contact will be made using the primary emergency contact provided.
Participant & Caregiver Responsibilities
Participants and/or parents/guardians agree to:
Provide accurate and complete information
Follow program schedules, drop-off/pick-up expectations, and communication guidelines
Engage respectfully with staff, participants, and community members
Failure to meet these responsibilities may impact participation.
4. Behavior, Safety, and Support
Behavioral Approach
Empowered Futures LLC uses trauma-informed, restorative, and relationship-based approaches to behavior. We prioritize emotional safety, co-regulation, reflection, and accountability.
If ongoing behavioral challenges arise that impact individual or group safety, the Organization will communicate directly with participants or caregivers and may implement additional supports, modifications, or growth plans.
Program Modification or Termination
Empowered Futures LLC reserves the right to pause, modify, or discontinue participation if safety cannot be reasonably maintained, if program expectations are not met, or if continued participation compromises the well-being of the participant or community — even after collaborative support efforts.
5. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
Participation in Empowered Futures LLC Programs involves inherent emotional, social, physical, and interpersonal risks. These may include emotional discomfort, physical activity, peer interactions, or unexpected incidents.
By enrolling or participating, participants and/or parents/guardians voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree to release and hold harmless Empowered Futures LLC, its staff, contractors, and affiliates from liability for injury, loss, or damage, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Hosts are not responsible for program content or facilitation.
6. Health, Safety & Emergency Procedures
All staff are trained in emergency response procedures and trauma-informed de-escalation strategies. Families will receive written communication following any safety-related incident.
Participants must disclose relevant medical, behavioral, or safety information necessary to support safe participation. Empowered Futures LLC is not responsible for undisclosed conditions.
7. Data Privacy & Confidentiality
Data Collection
Personal data, including contact and health information, is stored securely and used solely for program delivery and safety purposes.
Confidentiality
Participant information is treated with care and confidentiality and is not shared without consent unless legally required (e.g., mandated reporting). Empowered Futures LLC is not bound by HIPAA or clinical confidentiality laws.
8. Media Release & Intellectual Property
Media
Media consent is collected during registration. If permission is granted, photos or videos may be used for promotional purposes. If declined, reasonable efforts will be made to avoid identifiable media.
Intellectual Property
All program materials, curriculum, resources, and content are the intellectual property of Empowered Futures LLC and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
9. Virtual Programming & Technology
Some Programs may be offered virtually. Participants acknowledge the use of third-party platforms (e.g., Zoom) and understand that technical issues may occur. Recording or sharing virtual sessions without permission is prohibited.
10. Force Majeure
Empowered Futures LLC is not liable for delays, cancellations, or modifications due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to weather events, illness outbreaks, facility closures, or emergencies.
11. Program Philosophy & Disclaimer
Participation in Empowered Futures LLC Programs is also governed by the Privacy, Inclusivity & Program Disclaimer Statement, which outlines our trauma-informed values, inclusion commitments, and scope of services. By enrolling, participants and/or caregivers acknowledge they have reviewed and agree to that statement in addition to these Terms.

If any provision is deemed unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in effect
Failure to enforce any provision does not waive future enforcement
