Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: March 4, 2025
Last Updated: April 13, 2025

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your enrollment in and participation in any program, service, or event (“Program”) operated by Empowered Futures LLC (“Organization”), including but not limited to the Children in Leadership program. Some Programs may be hosted in collaboration with third-party organizations such as Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc. (“Host”), which may provide support such as facility access or insurance coverage.

These Terms shall remain in effect indefinitely unless otherwise updated or superseded by new agreements. The Organization reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time. In the event of any changes, parents/guardians or participants will be notified immediately.

1. Scope of Services

Empowered Futures LLC offers trauma-informed, leadership-centered, and social-emotional learning (SEL)-based programs for children and families. Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Structured educational activities and leadership skill development

  • Individualized support and growth plan development

  • Restorative practices and conflict resolution guidance

  • Family collaboration and coaching

  • Daily provision of meals and snacks (as applicable)

  • Observational updates, progress reports, or communication logs

  • Optional additional support services requested by the student and/or family

Please note that while Empowered Futures LLC aims to support growth, development, and leadership capacity for every participant, no specific results or outcomes are guaranteed.

2. Registration and Enrollment

  • Registration Process:
All registration must be completed via our online portal unless otherwise specified. Required forms, including the media release and relevant consent forms, must be completed at the time of registration. Late registration requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Enrollment Terms:
Programs may carry specific enrollment windows or minimum enrollment durations to ensure consistency, community-building, and participant support. These requirements will be communicated during registration for each program.

  • Payments and Deposits:
Deposits may be required to secure enrollment. Tuition must be paid according to the schedule communicated at registration or via an approved payment plan. Digital payments are accepted through our portal. For alternate arrangements, please contact the Program Supervisors listed in your welcome materials.

  • Cancellation and Refunds:
Deposits are non-refundable. Refunds for tuition may only be issued with a minimum of two weeks’ notice. Missed days are not eligible for reimbursement unless approved in writing by Empowered Futures LLC.

3. Family Engagement and Communication

  • Required Meetings:
Some Programs may require a parent/guardian orientation meeting to establish shared goals and introduce support protocols. Attendance and engagement in these meetings is essential to the success of the child and the community.

  • Ongoing Communication:
Each program will designate primary points of contact (Program Supervisors). Parents/guardians will receive regular updates via their preferred contact method. In emergencies, immediate contact will be made with the primary caregiver listed at registration.

  • Family Responsibilities:
Parents/guardians agree to provide accurate, timely, and complete information upon registration and throughout the duration of the Program. Adherence to drop-off, pick-up, and communication policies is required to maintain program safety and flow.

4. Behavior, Safety, and Support

  • Behavioral Expectations:
Empowered Futures LLC is committed to creating emotionally safe, inclusive spaces. We approach behavior through a trauma-informed and restorative lens, with an emphasis on co-regulation, reflection, and growth. If ongoing behavior challenges arise, staff will communicate directly with families and collaborate on a support or growth plan.

  • Safety and Liability:
All staff are trained in emergency procedures and follow trauma-informed de-escalation strategies. A written report will be provided to families following any safety-related incident. While Hosts may carry liability insurance for physical sites, families acknowledge that participation in Empowered Futures LLC programs is at their own risk.

5. Data Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Data Collection and Use:
All personal data, including emergency contact and health information, is stored securely and used only for the purpose of delivering program services. Families may designate which individuals are permitted to access or update this information.

  • Confidentiality:
We uphold strict confidentiality standards and will not share participant information without explicit consent unless legally required to do so (e.g., mandated reporting).

6. Media Release and Intellectual Property

  • Media Release:
Parents/guardians will be asked to complete a media release form during registration. If permission is granted, Empowered Futures LLC may use photos, videos, or other media for promotional purposes across websites, newsletters, and social media. If declined, efforts will be made to exclude or edit identifying visuals.

  • Intellectual Property:
All program materials, handouts, visual content, and digital resources are the intellectual property of Empowered Futures LLC and may not be reproduced, modified, or redistributed without written consent.

7. Amendments and Governing Law

  • Modifications to Terms:
The Organization reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued participation in any Empowered Futures LLC program constitutes agreement with any revised terms.

  • Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable Connecticut laws.

8. Miscellaneous

  • No Guarantee of Outcome:
While our programs are designed to encourage growth and leadership development, results will vary from child to child based on individual needs, participation, and external factors.

  • Optional Services:
Additional services, such as family coaching, referrals, or check-ins outside regular program hours, may be available upon request and determined on a case-by-case basis.
